Welding ==> Welding Sockets

UpUp

I TIG welded a chrome vanadium socket to a chrome vanadium wrench to reach some hard to reach area. Despite being a poor weldor, the qualities of the metals being welded, magically, made the weld nice.

Of interest here is that uneven discoloration of the heat affected zone made the weld look like turkeyshit, in Don Foreman's fitting words, on the photos. Shades of color appear to be shadows of irregularities. So, for comparison, I wirebrushed the welds and photographed them again. NO GRINDING was done, only wirebrushing.
