Great post Orac! The support of quackery by the WHO is very concerning. I have long been concerned by the WHO supporting unproven, rushed, and untested quack products that do not work, and I am glad to hear that you, a foremost scientific thinker, have concerns about related issues as well. I strongly suggest NOT discussing such matters on YouTube, as contradicting the World Health Organization guidance is against YouTube terms and conditions against medical misinformation. Discussing this post, which is truthful in many parts, may get you banned from YouTube. Remember that misinformation is not always false: true information that leads people to undesirable conclusions, is also considered misinformation. Contradicting the WHO is undesirable for our authorities such as Google owners, and, therefore, be careful about these matters. The WHO cryptically refers, several times, to "well-being for all and planetary health", as you indicated ==> “Planetary health and well-being for all: Learning from Indigenous knowledges, and traditional, complementary and integrative health systems,” This phrase cannot be understood without knowing where it came from. It comes from literature on "decolonization", specifically "decolonization of the mind", understood, in my opinion, as *abandonment of the Western style of thought*. The Well-being Alliance, whose ideals underlie many initiatives by the WEF and by the WHO, as well as the Club of Rome, have been recommending *decolonization of the mind* and return to indigenous knowledge as the alternative to "Western thinking". Remember that to these people, Western thinking, science, economic theory, economic growth that resulted from it, is responsible for overheating of our planet due to CO2 emissions. So, these people conclude (not entirely without reason) that we will not return to harmony with our planet without dismantling the entire Western approach to thought, science, industry and prosperity that gave us global warming, they say. This explainer by the Wellbeing Alliance sheds some light: https://weall.org/wp-content/uploads/Anti-Oppression-Terms-PDF-1.pdf DECOLONISATION: The active resistance against colonial powers, and a shifting of power towards political, economic, educational, cultural, *psychic independence* and power that originate from a *colonised nations' own indigenous culture*. The Club of Rome policy-setting book "Earth for All", also suggests that "Education systems are revitalized to promote local knowledge, culture, experience, and languages to 'decolonize the mind', as Kenyan author Ngugi wa Thiong'o once put it, alongside critical thinking and complex systems thinking". (page 47 of the book, which I bought on amazon kindle) These attempts to "decolonize the mind" are behind the efforts to adopt local health practices and *indigenous thinking* as counterbalances to the Western thought-based, evidence-driven medical approaches. This is important stuff written by serious people who carry a lot of weight in the Club of Rome, the WEF, WHO, and more, so we better give them the serious consideration that they deserve.
